In May, I enjoy shooting a project that beautifully intertwines architecture, nature, and science for L’Oréal & Yves Saint Laurent Beauté.
In the heart of the Ourika Valley, about forty kilometers from Marrakech, Yves Saint Laurent Beauté has created an extraordinary garden where sustainability and innovation meet. Here, more than 250 species of plants are cultivated, from jasmine, pomegranate, and fig to wild mallow, each one carefully integrated into the composition of YSL Beauté products.
To bring structure and harmony to this living laboratory, YSL entrusted landscape architects Eric Ossart and Arnaud Maurières, who have been shaping gardens in Morocco for over twenty-five years. Their vision has given rise to a space that thrives in the valley’s challenging climate, while honoring the land’s traditions and communities.
The result is a garden of experimentation and creation, where every flower and tree contributes to a future of beauty that is both responsible and inspired by nature. Photographing this dialogue between landscape and architecture was a privilege, a reminder that beauty begins in the earth itself.
